Wrighting Wrong
Four days ago, I tried, like Barack Obama did weeks ago, to justify and bring balance to the remarks of Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Today, I feel, also like Senator Obama, that Reverend Wright has crossed the line. While I still feel his original remarks were greatly taken out of context, there is really no justification for his performance in the past few days. Unlike the kind of campaign Senator Obama is running, Reverend Wright is putting his own self interests before the interests of the nation.
Once Again, Senator Obama has demonstrated why he is best equipped to lead this nation: his ability to respond to crisis and his principles that will bring this nation together even on difficult issues such as race.
Today, I say Wright is wrong. And like Senator Clinton it is time for him to go away and stop distracting this nation from progress.

I hope this comment gets through.
Like you, I was at first relieved when I saw the Moyers interview. It was a good opportunity to see Rev. Wright in a more dignified light as he was able to clarify his statements and put a new context to his public persona. However, what I witnessed on Monday was seemingly narcissistic and openly damaging to the campaign of one who risk his political career in choosing not to throw his ex-pastor under the proverbial bus.
I, like you, am so ready to get on with the general election so that they petty side shows can cease and Sen. Obama will be able to showcase his ability to articulate a bold vision and lead this nation in a fundamental new direction. And to this end, I am confident that the Obama campaign shall prevail. But in the meantime, the cultivation of patience must perfect itself even in those who understand the "fierce urgency of now." -Mahsea
