There was a time not too long ago that African Americans were not allowed to vote, and marriages and families like mine were illegal. Tomorrow we can take a great step foward in healing the wounds of our nation's past. Think about the history we can make in one day - electing the first African American to the highest office in the land and finally allowing all couples who love the opportunity to marry. I am not running for office and my marriage license is not in jeopardy, but never has an election been so personal and important.
